I have 15X6" Aluminum trailer wheels. They are rated for 2150lbs My OEM trailer tires have 12,500 miles and are not looking so good now. The tires are C rated 6 ply 1820lbs per tire at 50PSI Kinda cheap tires I think.
I want to Upgrade my tires to Maxxis M8008 205 75R15 D rated which are 8 ply 2150lbs at 65PSI. I've already researched the wheels and they are good to 80PSI at 2150Lbs
Or I can use Maxxis M8008 225 75R 15 which are 2540Lbs at 65PSI
My trailer is rated for 7600lbs I see the math and realize that the 205's are a perfect fit, but for 9 bucks more per tire I can get the 225's. My personality is to just get the bigger tires and have that margin for potholes etc. Or simply for the additional strength.
But then I likely need a different spare tire because they are 1" taller then the 205's Gotta make a move this week before m 3 week trip in August

It's a tossup. You have to decide if the extra price is worth it for your peace of mind. As far as the spare, I wouldn't do anything if you already have a good spare. An inch in height is only 1/2" in radius which is the difference you need to worry about. That's negligible.
