I walked into the house this evening to find a Gen 2 Glock 20 laying on the couch and a Storm Lake 6" barrel along with the factory barrel. I took it out and it shoots great with both barrels. The Glock barrel left a large bulge on the brass, unsupported chamber?, that's not there with the Storm Lake. It was Armscor 180gr FMJ ammo as it was all they had at the store.
Anything I should be concerned with, any upgrades I need to look into?
Thanks

I replaced the stock 17 lb. recoil spring and plastic guide rod with a 22 lb. recoil spring and stainless guide rod. I replaced the factory connector and also the factory plastic sights for steel Warren Tactical two dot tritium. My G20 is a Gen3 SF.

Someone left a Glock and two barrels on your couch? That was nice of them.

.....The Glock barrel left a large bulge on the brass, unsupported chamber?.....
Thanks I had a Gen2 Glock 20 that was doing the same. The bulge was enough that I didn't feel the brass was safe to reload, as it had to be structurally compromised. I ended up moving the pistol along. Probably an aftermarket barrel was all I needed.

Yes, it's an unsupported chamber. Go with an aftermarket barrel if you plan to reload.

I found some PPU ammo at another store today I'm going to run through the factory barrel and see how it goes. I've not noticed a bulge like this with my other Glocks and I would not want to reload this brass. Just ran through 50 rounds of PPU 180 FMJ and the brass looks perfect, no bulge at all. May have been some weakish brass in the armscor?

That PPU stuff is barely turning out .40S&W velocities.
The early gen 10mms were notorious for bulging brass. Stick with the Storm Lake barrel and you should be fine.

Over the last 20 years my Glock 20 keeps getting better barrels. A KKM 40sw barrel is the best. I built a 22 pound recoil spring assembly

22lb recoil spring on the way.
Chrono'd the 180 PPU
6" Storm Lake - 1098fps - 5 shots
Stock Glock barrel - 991fps - 5 shots
I ran out of Armscor stuff but it looks like it's in the 1100fps range with a stock barrel.
More ammo on the way
