Nice rifle and cartridge choice. Not sure about the dog leg but if you changed it it wouldn't be a 660 or Mohawk anymore. It adds character and is more appealing to me than the gear shifter tacticool knobs.
Ditto on the previous questions.

Look at the relationship of trigger to bolt. You have to be careful putting a straight bolt on those or you can get your finger hit.

Great looking rig!
You're lucky to know a 'smith who does good work and can turn it around so quickly.
I'm a Remington 600/660 fan and your rig looks nice in the McM Rem Seven style stock. What brand of trigger guard did you use, it doesn't look like the shape of a 700 ADL tg to me?

Ya model 7 mcswirly, had extra hole drilled in the rear of the receiver so I could run model 7 LW's, timney trigger, old Swarovski 3-9x36. Fire forming hornie 100 btsp's. Had a abundance of of 6mm brass and Steve had the reamer so figured what the hell. Should make a dandy buck huntin rifle.

Ya it's handy having him 20 min from my place! Don't remember what trigger guard it is but your probably right about the 700 ADL.

Using the Quikload software, 65 k psi limit, and 22 in barrrel, the data comes out about 3550 with 85 gr something or other.
It should be lightning in a bottle.

look's pretty good, I don't care for stnless and plasstic. Have to wonder why a 6mm for the 660? Had a short 700 for the wife years ago in 6mm and the magazine limited the length I could seat out 100gr bullet's, that was all I ever put in it.

Ya It'll end up with cerakote on it. I don't think 80's or 90's will be a problem...

Great cartridge and great looking rifle. Not much that could not be done with that rifle.

87 grain vmax would be a cheap substitute for the 80s/90s when not punching tags.... and at 3250ish I bet they NUKE coyotes off the back-porch bait pile.

Great cartridge and great looking rifle. Not much that could not be done with that rifle. Yup. Nice setup. I shot 6mm AI in a 28" Benchmark barrel for a while, cool round with a lot of potential. Mine was on a Mauser 98 action though, so I can't comment on short action mag box limits.

Nice build. Steve Kostanich is one of nicest and best smiths out there. I'm jealous that you had him as a teacher.
