I like fixed blades, but have a weakness for 2 blade trappers.
Have an assortment from case, gec, boker, Remington ( camillus )
What brands does the fire like?

The older Case but I lost 2 of them. Went to a mini trapper and lost it too. Only knives I've ever lost. Lost the trappers a couple years apart, both while fishing in Yellowstone. Worst part was I could see them in the deep cold water. The mini trapper was lost on a hunt within 10 yards of the truck in some rocky terrain.

I have never really loved slip joint traditional multi blade folders. I have picked up a few recently from GEC that perform well, and ride easy in the pocket.

I like traditional pocket knives but I've never been a fan of the Trapper pattern...
I prefer an old school single blade Jack Knife with spear point blade or a Barlow if you want two blades.....
My favorites are a North Woods Indian River Jack with Coobolo scales and a Schatt&Morgan Heritage Jack with ebony scales....
I'd post a pic but I haven't been able to get on PB for a couple of weeks.....

I have a Case trapper. Nice all around cutting tool and near perfect deer knife IMO. I like "traditional" pocket knives. You can't use em for screwdrivers, pry bars, or hatchets because they are delicate, and if you are ham handed, you might close one on yourself....a locking knife is without doubt safer. But those thin, narrow blades cut like crazy and that is what a knife is for. Plus they look cool. If you see someone with a knife like Huntsman22's, chances are he is not a city boy.

The trapper pattern is my favorite for daily carry. My wife bought me a GEC with elk antler scales that I dearly loved, and then it disappeared.
A good friend of mine is friends with Ken Coats, and I bought acustom single blade trapper from Ken that is great, but I am scared to carry it for losing it.
