JohnChilds,
As you can see from the earlier posts, 25-06's tend to like a fairly diverse bunch of projectiles and powder.
For years, in a 100gr bullet one of my rifles like 51gr IMR4831 pushing a speer BTSP. Fast-forward 20 years and about 3000 rounds later, and it quit shooting them well. So I started the search.
I settled on a 110 AB and 59.5 gr IMR7977. Mainly due to reported temp insensitivit. Velocity is right at 3100 using the BR2 primers and Norma brass.
My other 25-06 liked the 120 gr Speer BTSP and 52gr IMR4831. Alas, 2000 or so rounds down the pipe and it too got the IMR7977 treatment with the AB's. It prefers a 60 gr load and WLR primers in Hornady brass.
I haven't found anything in the books using either bullet and the IMR7977 powder, so if you decide to try it, start around 56gr and work your way up SLOWLY. Also, the AB's like a bit of 'jump' from the lands. If you're burying them into the lands I doubt you'll find a good load. One of mine is .1 off the lands the other is about .08 off the lands.
Each rifle is different, so stay safe my friend!
Jack
