Yep, My 13 year old son loves shooting it so much, I gave it to him.
So needing another .30 cal to shoot supressed, I got a Rem 700 Tactical on a trade, swapped out the Hogue stock for a Magpul 700 Hunter(that I had), threaded the barrel for my Innovative Arms LDSP, and went to work on a load.
I started with 208's, 180's and different powders. didnt find anything that would shoot sub-moa at 100 yds. Then, I read about using Trail Boss and 170gr Sierra flat nose bullets, and gave them a try. I found the sweet spot at 10 grains, and chony'd them at 1030 fps. Sub-moa achieved! With the same bullet/powder combo, we got sub-moa in my buddies Savage Hog Hunter as well, but to get the same speed and accuracy, we needed to bump his to 11 grains of powder.
So, after a bunch of fun target shooting, I figured that this rifle was ready to try and drop a Hog. I started putting out feed about a month ago and started seeing deer. Then the hogs started showing up, and i wasnt getting any more pix of deer. The temps dropped last week and I went behind the shop, to see if anything was there, and saw hogs.
Walked to the garage and grabbed the rifle, sat down at the blind, and drilled one in the neck right at 100 yds! That hog dropped right where he stood! I didn't really know what to expect, as this was my first SS kill. the combo worked perfectly!
Now, just three days later, I'm seeing deer again! Next hog that shows up is getting drilled by my son, with my Blackout!
Anyway, looking forward to deer season, and now working up loads for my 280 Rem.
