Recently in for repair is a rifle that I think is factory redone? Here is the crazy has a 24 inch barrel marked Westfield with the proper sights for barrel, new stock press skip line like the c's had. The he lever was bent to accommodate the pistol grip stock (very well done) and the craziest part the sn is less than 50k.
How late did the factory rebarrel 99's? Do you thinks they strayed from the less than 90k being scrapped?

I would be awfully surprised if the factory did that! They wouldn't touch my Granddad's gun under 90K.

Perhaps done by a skilled gunsmith for a client with an eye for detail? It might be an interesting piece to investigate. Post some pictures!

The under 90k thing has me perplexed as well. I will grab a few pictures the next time I am there. With any luck I will have a chance to talk with the owner maybe he know the story.
