It only counts if it was shot with 6x MilQuad--you cannot use other power scopes.

[quote=Yondering] On this forum, only 10 shot groups matter That's just for the "all day long" crowd. And only when they "do my part"

Just about all the barrel makers make various grades of barrels. Sure, a poor barrel may be improved with lapping, but that's not what happens as a rule. The lower grade barrels are sold cheap and the better quality barrels are lapped and sold for more. Lapping isn't an absolute, but it is a general indicator of the grade of barrel that the builder paid for.
I know I'm going to catch hell from Rost, but Douglas doesn't lap and the last Douglas I had was, for my purposes, the equal of any other barrel I've had.

How about Ballistics Advantage?? I've got one of their 8.3" Hanson barrels in 300 BO, but I haven't had a chance to wring it out yet. Only function test so far. Something like the one below? They have several different options for length, profile, etc... Precision series are all 416R. http://ballisticadvantage.com/16-inch-223-hanson-625-mid-ss-premium-barrel.html#product-tabs

It only counts if it was shot with 6x MilQuad--you cannot use other power scopes. I had a 6x MQ on the 18" PSA before I swapped to the 4-9x MQ. Pics below with 6x MQ, RL15 and 75gr BTHP. From what I remember, I think the first 5-shot group was done slow. Didn't read the wind correctly so only 4 hit the plate, and low. The second pic shows 10-shots fired in rapid succession... 1-2 seconds after hearing the previous impact, unless the plate was twisting.
