By Dinkathon standards, that's got Boone and Crockett written all over it, and how do you go about bribing yourself? One method comes to mind, but I cant imagine you're quite that flexible any more.......

Here's what works for me.

1. Buy the "bribe".
2. Buy the shipping container.
3. Buy the packaging material.
4. Package aforementioned bribe.
5. Set said package aside until Dinkathon is near the end.

By then, you will have rethought the bribe, or run low on regular stock. That package is a lot closer than the store....

And, it's comforting to know that when one goes, he will have a few turds to smoke. At least, he tells me I will.

I wonder, because sometimes I question his honesty. I should've won one time except somebody sent in a picture of "junk", and I wondered about that for a long time, well, until he bought a 6.8.......

Yup,buying a 6.8 answered a lot of questions about Ingwe.

He's probably listening to "Culture Club" right now as he reads this.

That was cruel.

elks: I just got in a batch of bullets for the 6.8 courtesy of another member here of discriminating taste.....very much unlike your basic .270 shooting unicorn hunter...

Ingwe, you do realize that real .270 bullets start at 130 grs. Anything lower is for little girls and old men. wink

A) I AM an old man...and

B) Anything over 110 grains is overcompensating on any Freudian scale.

I'd argue with ya, but you kinda have Phil Shoemaker on your side.

You're lucky....this time....

Damn, I just thought about it.

Hell, he may win the Dinkathon this year without even shooting a deer, if big animal/small bullet is a parameter.

I always tried big bullet/little animal....

OK...if it'll make you feel better, I'll amend that.

Nobody shooting a Weatherby Mark V will win.

I would have to think that if the owner of a nice Weatherby happened to accidentally drop several cases of choice hooch off the bumper of his truck, totally by accident of course, in the Poob's driveway, he might reconsider the "no Weatherby winner" clause.......

Can the winner use an original Weatherby rifle on a genuine FN Mauser action? Or maybe a custom .270 on a pre-'64 Model 70 Winchester action?

How about a Handi-Rifle in .30-30?

There's a photo on mine in the hog hunt thread. I'm holding a jackrabbit in hand & my dink in the other.

Thats all good. Just so long as its not a Mark V.

There is a separate category for .270s......
