Well it took over 29 months to cobble together but my full custom .223 is finally in the safe.
I picked up a barreled action from a member in March 2014 and stashed it in the safe. In May 2014, I ordered a Shrike stock from D'arcy Echols. It was finally delivered thirteen months later in June of 2015. Sent it off to Scott Weichel of Live Oak Accuracy to be fit, finished and bedded in December 2015. It was delivered last week.
The worst part of the whole thing is that I am overseas and it won't be shot by me for some time to come.
The stock was ordered as an Edge fill but weighs in at 28 ounces. I was a little disappointed with that number being an edge fill with a .25 pad but I am told that balance of the completed rifle is spectacular so I will not be complaining.
