WTB or WTT for Marlin bolt action heavy barrel laminated stock 17 HMR

One of these:

Marlin XT-17VLS

or this

Marlin 917 VS

My experience is that people who actually shoot these never part with them, but I thought I'd at least try.

I made the mistake and parted with my 917vs i regretted it soon after. I have since got a blued one with a heavy barrel and shoots absolutely awesome.

That's a common theme that makes finding a used one problematic.

I had a 917VS and loved it. It shot great. However, I bought a Savage 93 with varmint barrel and dropped it in a Boyd's laminate stock and it shoots substantially better than the Marlin did. Just something to think about in case you can't find exactly what you are looking for. Best of luck!

Try Bob's Gun Shop, Royal, AR. He has the factory Marlin 17VS salt/pepper laminate in stock which comes with the plastic trigger guard. They are $100.00 plus shipping. I have 2 of them on my converted over 882SSV Marlin HB 22 magnum. They work great and are direct fit. This stock is for PRE-accutrigger (old style).
For a bit more$$$, Boyds carries the rimfire hunter with vents in the forearm for $129.00 plus shipping in many different colors. Also a nice choice for an upgrade. Hope that helps you out.

Best,

DIP 25 MOA rail, Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16, Apachee trigger kit which makes an already good trigger great, Boyd's stock of choice, and DIP bottom metal. Shoots tiny little groups and is a blast to shoot!
