I am having a 6.5 creedmoor being built and almost done. I always buy leupold on my hunting rifles and have been happy, but for this gun I have been looking at NF, and mark 4's, and vx 6. The gun is in a A-5 stock with a 25" varmint barrel, so weight does not matter. what scope would you guys go with?

What is your intended use? Hunting, or target/steel/etc? Do you plan to twist turrets, or just use a holdover reticle?
For that type of rifle, I've sold all my Nightforces and IORs and replaced them with Sightron SIII 8-32s or 6-24s with the LRMOA reticle. They make 1st focal plane or 2nd.

For hunting and steel, I hunt whitetail in big fields and am hopping for a antelope hunt in the future.
And spinning turrets

Don't know why everybody thinks they need the Hubble on a hunting rifle. Just my opinion(and we all know what they are like), if you can't see it good enough to make a clean kill with a fixed 6x...I'd probably do a 6x42, maybe with LRD.

All my hunting rifles have a low power of 2 or 3. My varmint contour rifles have much higher mag as I don't hunt with them much, maybe overlooking a big hayfield at dusk hoping they come out.

Not trying to be a smartass, but get the one you see best through. Been selling scopes for two years and found out real quick everyone's eyes are different. Each person sees better out of certain brands than others.
As an example I see better through Zeiss than Swarovski. Don't know why but I do. I have a friend that is the opposite.
Don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

I could die happy shooting an SWFA 6x milquad for that application. And still be pretty happy shooting an SWFA 10x milquad as well.
You didn't ask but I'd use Seekins rail and rings also.

For that type of gun, I'd go Nightforce ATACR F1 (either model) or a March 3-24x52 FFP.

Hmmmm. I like NF reticles for LR target shooting, but not hunting. Plus they are very heavy. I have 2 NXS scopes.
I only like/use Mark 4 fixed powers.
Am thinking a I would give a VX-6 a test drive if I were you.....

Horsefly80: My Remington 700 VLS with 26" barrel in 260 Remington has a Leupold 6.5x20x40mm with A/O and fine Du-Plex crosshairs. I can't imagine any other scope more reliable or more suited to this Rifle and the long range Deer, Antelope and Coyotes that I Hunt with it! Go with the Leupold 6.5x20x40mm and fine Du-Plex - add the tall scope adjustments if you think the need be. Best of luck to you with whichever you choose. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

30338, I have a ATACR 4-16 F1 but haven't used it yet. Most of my shooting with this type of rifle (i.e., longer range and more deliberate with a 6.5 Creedmoor) has been with the ATACR 5-25 F1 which I like a lot. However, it would be better with a Christmas tree reticle which would give you the option to either dial or hold-over/into for quick follow up shots. I imagine the 4-16 would be very similar. The turret lock is a nice feature on the 4-16 that is not on the 5-25.

Thank you for the additional info. If I ever change up my existing scope lineup, it'd be that 4-16 based on what I have seen.
