Went on my first ever elk hunt this fall. I will be going back next fall hopefully as well. Elk kicked my butt surprises surprise but I did learn some stuff. I will be doing lots of reading and learning over the winter.

Ruger 77 in 338 loaded with 225 Barnes ttsx. It flattens bears so I imagine it will work just fine on elk

Don't let some of these dipchits talk you into believing the .243 or 308 is the best, most UBER elk cartridge ever..... Those guys are on dope and don't know the first thing about hunting elk..
