Dont need a professional grade model. Just something I might use at the Ranch every great once in a while.
Any of the lower priced models / brand that y'all have actually used and recommend ?

A Dremel does not cost that much, get a corded one if you are on the cheap

If a real Dremel is a bit too much, look for a cordless chain saw sharpener. They should have a 1/8" collet that will accept regular Dremel bits.

I have a cordless Dremel that I'm NOT impressed with....
Might as well get the HF IMO...
Or maybe the corded Dremel......

I see Harbor Freight also has a cordless version for the same price. I'll go by there tomorrow and give one of those a try. All the online reviews I read on the Dremel cordless models were not good.

See if Harbor Freight has a chain sharpening tool that is cordless while you are at it.
I have seen one that has a cord and clips so you could run it off a vehicle battery. Might be just the ticket for what you need. I don't remember if that was at HF or somewhere else.
No small cordless tool will have much oomph or a long run time.

I used the sharpen my chainsaw with my dremel, then I splurged and got one of these. ![[Linked Image]](http://chainsawchainsharpenerreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/oregon.jpg) You can pick them up used for about $100. The key is very light cuts so you don't overheat the chain or wear it out prematurely. Having a properly sharpened chain on a chainsaw is one of the simple pleasures in life.

I bought one of these and have done a bit of stock work and have had no problems.

I bought a corded Dremel about 1976 and it's still going strong.
I got a cordless Dremel for a gift about ten or twelve years ago and it has been very useful, but it crapped out a couple of years ago.
But! Dremel was very cooperative and swapped it out for a rebuilt, newer model cordless that is much sturdier than the first cordless one. I don't remember if it was a free exchange or if it cost me like twelve bucks or something, but I consider it very good service from Dremel. You won't see any service from Harbor Freight if theirs craps out.
