For size comparisions:

Top - Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt

Center - Uberti .45 Colt

Bottom - Ruger Blackhawk Flattop .44 Special

The Uberit is a little bitty sucker! Cute, though!

Fine lookin' Uberti Mike, please let us know how it shoots. Colts and direct copies will spoil you after handling Ruger's overbuilt SA's.

I spit the diff with a nearly NIB New Vaquero I picked up for the cost of a Ranch Hand, but the latter is still on my radar.

Long, long ago - in an East Texas county far, far away, I had as my first Ruger a 3 screw Old Model in .357 magnum. By the time I got another Ruger too many years later, Old Models really WERE old, so I have missed out on the "half cock" mechanism for some time. Was re-introduced to it with my recent acquisition of an old Herters, and now am experiencing the Uberti. Now I know why I want another Old Model Ruger!

Put together a batch of light loads for the Uberti last night to hopefully shoot some tomorrow. I got a box of sig Elite ammo with the gun, with 230 gr HP's at 850 fps, but I want to ease into this thing, and besides, I have a real good supply of 230 gr lead and XTP's, also a box of 200 gr XTP's, so fun times are ahead!

Shot the Uberti yesterday, with some "mild" hand loads using Titegroup and 200 gr cast lead bullets. Did not chrono the loads, but was trying for maybe 750 fps as a start.

At a 15 yard start point, just to get a feel for the revolver, it was actually pretty accurate, considering the sights. "Felt" very good, recoil was light, shooting it very comfortable. No problems of any kind with the mechanics of the gun.

I do believe it will be a "keeper"

You'll get used to the sights.

If it's hitting point of aim, you are already ahead of the curve.

I had one Uberti that was extremely accurate. I could hit a 24" dinger at 100 yards every time.

That is much more accurate than I can shoot with open sights, with any handgun, I think.
