My best use for a laser was mounting it on a blue gun to teach movement in a ready position among no-shoot targets. It is much harder than most people think and seeing is believing. A laser w/out a light seems to invite pointing the gun at targets not yet identified as hostile.
In our state lasers are permitted for CCW quals and at least 50% of the users I have seen do not have the POA/POI coordinated resulting in poor results. I think one should do a lot of training prior to depending on a laser.

I have also found that when I wanted to practice with the laser, I had to wait until dusk. I couldn't see it for schist in regular daylight.
About the only time I could see it was in the house at night.
Travis Lasers definitely have their limitations and are only truly effective either indoors or in reduced light. Anybody who thinks they can stop training with the sights, just because they have a laser, is being foolish. The laser is a supplement to the sights, not a substitute for them.

I used to be a laser and now I am not, despite my eyes the iron sights are a heck of a lot more reliable.
On the other hand pistol mounted flashlights seem to work OK, but then you got to think of illuminating something with the barrel of a gun.

A laser can make an agitated person downright negotiable.

It might scare a cat burglar, but most of those that are in a confrontational mood are either Drunk, on dope, but just downright Agitated and the little red dot will not change that attitude.

If I am pointing a firearm, laser or not, I am fixin to shoot something. I do not threaten with a weapon. I either use it or leave it holstered or pointed down.

Bluedreaux, I have a Lasermax unit in my SIG P220. I haven't tried using it sitting down but it's very accurate one handed with my pistol at waist level at 7-10 yards. I didn't try it at longer distances.

Ah, marking gimmicks. A good flashlight and night sighs are more valuable to me. At 3 yards who uses sights on a bad guy target?
