I've been thinking about this a lot.
AR scopes 1x6 seems perfect except the good ones are way to costly to make it worth it for me.
So I mounted a SWFA 1x4 yesterday and I like it a LOT.
The SWFA 6X is great; but big and heavy and bulky.
I wish SWFA would make a very simple $300 6x with 24 objective and a simple mil based reticle for hold off and hold over. Even a 1" tube might work well to keep down weight.
A 300 yard zero and 45 degree offset irons... what is not to like?
Does something like this exist already? I think the commies got one don't they???
If I can make fast target aquisition and hold over out to 500 yards life is way good. No cranky, no complications- fast and affordable and rugged. I think there might would be a huge market for that.

Try a 4x33 Leupold, add an M1 or CDS turret Heck if you were going to do that you may as well get the 6x33 from SWFA. But it sure won't meet the OP's price point.

6x36 Leupold starts at $300 and is generally considered a more user friendly scope than the 6x33. A little bigger than the OP wanted I'll admit and an M1 and different reticle would up the cost some; still...

The 4 mm exit pupil of a 6x24 would be a deal breaker for me.

A 6x Burris mini might work. There are a few used ones on the for sale and auction sites.
