I initially assessed my area as having a low mast output this year. Damn was I wrong.

I have a large persimmon tree but could never figure out what to do with them ?

I hang a tree stand over them.

Just one of the groups of persimmon trees on my property.

When it happens, we just switch to hunting whatever they happen to be feeding on that year. Here they like pin oaks the best so I go hunt pin oak trees on heavy acorn years...works great.

Right out of the tree no - too much tannic acid in them. Eating one or two would be OK but too many will be toxic. Water leaching by soaking or boiling in water until the water doesn't turn brown will make them edible. Can also be ground into flour.

Google is your friend. Looks like a canyon live oak.

Yep Canyon Live Oak - only one with lanceolate leaves.
