Holding one's breath and hoping against Trump surprises is, not surprisingly , not a very effective way to commit suicide. Trump, on the other hand, seems pretty handy with the ol' "foot gun".

If Trump refuses to withdraw will Pence be so damaged that his political career will end or will he duck and run from this dumpster fire?

You have to ask yourself how it worked for Teddy, or how it worked for Billy Bob Cliton, or Tony the Weiner?

Then you have to wonder if it's worse that Pence is simply the running mate of a someone who may be only mildly similar to the aforementioned.

Then again, Pence is an actual Republican, so the rules will probably apply differently.

I would say Pence knows exactly what's he's doing. His message would likely be that he is here to save the party. PERIOD!

Probably so, and that's why he better jump now. He won't survive otherwise. If he does jump, he may become a hero. It's a no brainer really.

To be honest I think Pence is in the process of weighing his options. His political life depends on getting out early not late. Trump will not go without doing LOTS of collateral damage and Pence does not want to be part of that Dumpster Fire! Christian Conservatives may be willing to overlook some things but they are not stupid

BTW, Trump has been holding roughly even because of a trucely sort of arrangement which has garnered the general support of Republicans in the main. If he loses that- or perhaps we should say if he shoots himself again- it's pretty difficult to expect the surgeons to come back in and clean him up again.

Skeptics were told not to vett Trump too hard in the primary, yet his supporters were also warned that this would happen sooner or later if it wasn't taken care of early. This is no surprise. Trump better hope he has some of the same 'slickery' in him that Billy Bob, Teddy, and Antoink the Dink had in them. Alas, I'll bet the Democrats are happy he came over to the conservative ticket before he 'exposed' himself.

I don't understand this. We have someone who said something more than a decade ago and Republicans head for "high ground"? They are a bunch of loosers.

I would say a lot of them were rather timid and cautious about being "with him" so its not a big surprise that they cut the life boats loose (not [sic] ) when the ship starts to founder. (Actually, that's standard procedure.)

Most of us, however, don't have to worry about that ship pulling us down when it goes, so we can wear our "I'm with Chappa-quacka-Teddy" when we go pull the 'crank' for Donald.

The spineless, scum sucking RNC loyalists were just looking for a reason to sabotage and back stab Trump. They have no loftier goals than to ensure the power base stays intact and consolidated.

RNC is a huge part of the problem with this nation, past time for voter renovation/renewal.
