Where in ND do you hunt at CFT?

Oh and good luck!

Here are a few pictures from Jacks's trail cam. Off to a good start.

3 or possibly 4 different bucks. Does the dawn with the doe look like a piebald?

We're west of Edgeley and Gwinner, south of Streeter and Gackle. Man, lots of big deer this year and probably the most Ringnecks I've seen in ten years here. Almost took one in the windshield yesterday afternoon!

Oh he's excited! He's not actually seen a deer while he has a gun with him so anything will get him excited at this point. It's very fun to see the excitement. He knows the area we usually hunt, north of Duluth has about 3 deer. He wasn't excited to go there at all actually. So, this is pretty exciting.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me to take a pic of him shooting his gun, but here are the results.

Ruger American Compact. .223 Rem, Barnes Vortex 55gr TSX

Here he is shooting my Win M70 Compact. .308 Win, Hornady American Whitetail 150gr

That's some pretty good shooting. What was the range?

I kiiid, I kiiid.

It was 50. He won't have a shot further than that anywhere by that clear cut.

We shot the .308 at 50 and 100.

Tom-smart to do this like you are. Get him confident he can hit that 50 yard shot and move on from there. Good job buddy.

Well I also want to keep velocity up on that lil popper he's shooting too. Those 55 grainers should smoke right along.

That sucker sure is fun to shoot.
