I've got an opportunity to buy either a .204, or a .223 Encore barrel.
The 223 is a standard 24" blued Encore barrel.
The 204 is a blued 26" barrel that is .810 at the muzzle.
What's your favorite?
Which one would sell easier if I don't like it.

I'd go 223 but i've never been a big 204 fan . Everyone and his brother have 223s though so I guess you could be different.

I'd definitely go with the .223. More versatility in the available ammo and, for me, a 24" standard barrel proves a nice compact and well-balanced Encore rifle. Longer, full contour barrels are front heavy and I don't like to carry them.

I've already got one 223. I thought I might buy the other and compare accuracy to my current one. The most accurate stays.
But.... The 204 looks interesting. This is the problem with the rifle Looney sickness.....

My first couple .204s were lemons. I'm glad I tried one more time. smile I have no practical use for any .22 centerfire these days. If I can't do it with my .204 it's time to reach for the .257 Roberts.

Were these 204's Ruger rifles?

The 204 has completely replaced the 223 for me on the prairie dog fields. I still have and shoot the 223 but it's with heavier bullets.
