Magpul’s website shows two new offerings for 9mm Glock fans. The first is a 21 round magazine and the second is a 27 round magazine. Midway has been showing the 21 round magazines in stock for a couple of weeks, with an indication that the 27 round magazines will be arriving soon.

I was in Sportsman’s Warehouse today and they had two of the 21 round magazines in stock for the first time for $18.95 a piece. I really like to stay with OEM magazines, but the price was right so I bought them. Unlike the complaint with the Magpul "standard" G19 and G17 magazines, this version has witness holes at 10, 15 and 21.

I have not had a chance to use them, and may not even attempt to use them for a while. (They may actually be worth a premium after the election.) But, for people trying to make purchasing decisions, I have attached some photos against OEM Glock 19 magazines, including a side by side comparison, a look at a G19 with a Magpul 21 magazine in it, and a photo of a G17/19 magazine pouch with an OEM G19 magazine (L) next to the Magpul 21 (R).

Hope this helps.

I have quite a few Magpul GL9 magazines, for both the Glock 19 and Glock 17 and I just got in half a dozen of these 21-round magazines. All of mine have worked perfectly.

Thanks for the report. I know a police firearms instructor who swears by the Magpul Glock 17 magazines he regularly carries in his Glock 19.

To supplement my original post, here is a picture of the Magpul 21 rounder sandwiched between an OEM Glock 17 magazine and an OEM 33 round "fun stick," followed by a picture of an OEM Glock 17 magazine in a magazine pouch next to the Magpul 21 rounder. It creates a lot of options in terms of spare ammo for Glocks.

...while i will stick with Glock magazines, i did pick one of these up awhile back to give it a go.

so far, it has functioned flawlessly...

potential "con";

wife felt that it was a little more difficult for her to load, as contrasted to loading the various Glock magazines...

potential "pros";

a. the base pad is definitely much easier to remove for disassembly. while some might view that as a possible negative, i surely don't...

b. as seen in the pic, the base pad sits at nearly 90 degrees to the axis of the body. if a chap is using a mag loading device (which i rarely use), when resting it on a table the mag will orient to nearly vertical, as opposed to the glock, which sits at somewhat of an awkward angle when using the mag loader in that manner.

all learning is like a funnel:
however, contrary to popular thought, one begins with the the narrow end.
the more you progress, the more it expands into greater discovery--and the less of an audience you will have...
