I was given early '50s M99 300 Sav and would like to put a QD style front swivel stud on it. The rifle has a sling swivel mount on the barrel but is not a QD type. I like to remove my slings when hunting in brush. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Get the stud that replaces the forearm screw so you don't have to drill a hole. Ebay.

I once took a Model 70 style swivel and rethreaded to fit the front barrel stud. I can't recollect the thread size but the tool shop I went to was able to get the correct die.
