Nice rifle! I know one member here who would go nuts over owning that gun.

I'm envious. I don't have an SRC in 25-35. David

2nd one down here is my 1906 SRC in 25-35. I think it may be the most I've had to pay for any of my rifles.

Like I said before, your dad had a good eye for nice Savages. That is about the nicest SRC I have seen and a 25-35 to boot!

Got my 25-35 off Blair before he sold off most of his collection, glad I grabbed it when I did.

Thanks everyone. I've got a couple of boxes of my dad's reloads plus about a dozen boxes of unprimed brass in 25-35. My son and I are going to build a new shooting bench at our ranch this weekend and shoot this one a little.

David, I just bought a copy of your book and am reading it now. The pictures really help trying to understand all the different Savage models and changes over the years.

pwomble, thanks for the compliment. Murray's book got me started collecting 99's but as I got deeper into collecting I realized he had repeated a lot of catalog errors and omitted rifles such as the "Perris Special" and Montreal Home Guard musket and of course everything after his last revision in 1985. I'm not knocking his book. He did the best he could with the resources available to him. The internet made it possible for me to quickly access people all around the world who contributed a great deal to the book. David

For me it would be nice to know 3 things about this rifle:

What year it was made, what bluing process produced the blue on the barrel, and a good picture of the front sight.
I'm guessing a rust blueing process where you card off the rust produced by Brownells Rust Blues,in a steam tank, and definately pre WWI manufacture. Any ideas?
Nice Gun too!
