What would you guys pay for one of these? I let my other 7x57 (a ruger no 1a) go in a moment of stupidity, and have a void to fill. There is one for sale locally and I might jump on it if i determine the price is fair. I would rate it at 95%. Bluing is excellent but it has a few nicks and dings in the wood.

For one in that shape, I'd probably go up to $650ish, but I really like mine. This is based on no market research, or even a review of GB. But I spent a little more for a FWT that was NOS with hang tags but no box, and it won't be sold any time soon, I've found a few good loads and love the balance.
I'd recommend you go to GB and look for completed auctions that resulted in sales and go from there.

Thanks for the tip. I just did a little research and it seems $650-$750 is what they've brought recently with a few going for less. The one locally is $750, but no shipping or transfer fees just sales tax. I figure its half the price of a super grade, and i won't be afraid to hunt it.

I remember watching an M70 7x57 FW sit in a shop rack for years on end, always wondered when the hell is someone going to buy it..???...finally one day I walked in and asked why is that thing still on the rack after all this time?....he said its brand new but it just can't seem to find a friend......I said " ok, ill take it." I put it down to destiny.
They are throated to take original Mauser spec. ammunition, so you can handload out to about 3.150" with BTs(limit of mag. box)...IIRC.

There's one in the classifieds.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

The 7X57 is one of my all time favorites with 3 pre64's and 2 custom guns. You can't go wrong with one.

A Winchester M54 in 7X57MM would be very cool to hunt with.
