And I thought insulting the Poobah was a requirement.

Ohhhh.....that's for inclusion in the Merry band of Turd-like people.

Dinkathon + MBOTLP = small turd??

How about that! I've been training for the dink a thon for several years and didn't even know it.

The last few years I've shot tender vittles type button bucks because they taste so dang good. I'll have to enter this years contestant for consideration.

Now, Where are the bribes sent to again? Scotch or Bourbon? whistle

Suck it up, get out there and hunt.

I think we could swing that. The Model 14 pictured above did finish a pig in Tennessee, a couple years ago. The recently arrived Model 25 would work for skinning one, however. smile

Sadly, I won't be able to win the Dinkathon this year. I took a nice 8 pt. buck this morning. I'm sure the Dinkathon faithful are breathing a sigh of relief knowing that I'm out of the running. Poobs, just give me credit for this year's bribes against next year's contest. I just know there's a little one out there with my name written all over it!

I could have blasted a retard buck this evening...a spike mulie with only one antler. The one antler was maybe 4-5 inches long and bent forward and down at the base, covering his eye.

I will bet he weighed 70 pounds and with momma nowhere to be found, he was a bit curious about me.

Dink-a-thon, here I come! Heading up to my lease on Friday. Hope to get a couple-three days on stand, maybe slay a serious dink for fresh sausage at my favorite sausage meat processor.

Since I can't do any reloading this year, I'll probably not do any handgun hunting... but you never know. I'll likely take my 6" S&W M586 along this trip for just-in-case purposes, but my main shooting on stand will be with my lately acquired Savage M99 358 Win. Not that I need a .358 to kill a Texas dink, but I ain't killed nothing with it yet and it needs some blood on it before next spring's bear hunt.

Dayom. I am seriously excited to get hunting season finally... after getting my WY hunt quashed in October, I'm seriously due.

So, being late to this party... what's the rules? Not that I care, really, I plan to lose anyway.

Oh, Poobah, btw... I don't got no leopard print thongs... but I'll be wearin' my lucky pair of bright yellow boxers with the Xmas lights pattern... will that suffice? Are there extra style points for wearin' 'ems over top of my pants?

Not answering for the Poobs, but here are some guidelines.

1. Visible antlers above hairline--cut hair if needed.
2. It is advisable to take pictures of "junk", dunno why, but Poobs has hinted that it might help.
3. 6.8 is the hot new caliber (.270 lite). Might be tied in to #2
3. Blanton's or Rebecca Creek.

A quick field estimate of eligibility for the Dinkathon would be if the antlers can be seen protruding above thumb and index finger while holding between said thumb and index finger, you aren't even in contention.......This is where the Becky crick or Blanton's comes in.

Junk must not make Poobs jealous, and it must be the deer's.

Flamboyancy is encouraged.

Thinking about starting a parallel competition with no standards whatsoever. Everybody gets a trophy,........ everybody that sends a bribe, that is. Not much on whiskey, but naturally infused, small-batch gin will do very nicely, along with macadamia nuts and gift cards for Carabba's and Ledo Pizza.

Extra points for entries without junk pics.

We're all winners, but no bribe, no trophy.

However, feel free to visualize receiving one in your head.

I don't see a gun. Did you run him down on foot or just pose with some roadkill?

"We're all winners"....really?

Notice the Judge isn't handing out 'Participation 'trophies?

Only the smallest buck, with nearly vestigial nubs for antlers can win.You people shooting these spikes and monster two points need to rethink your game plan. If you insist on shooting grown-up deer, you'll never be a winner.

Just saying...
