OP Duckhunter Campfire Regular D Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 926 Missouri	Finally made it into the Savage 99 owners club thanks to Keith.(Rifle is better than I expected too Keith, Thank you) 1957 99F 308 Haven't got to shoot it yet, but will see if it will do the job on a doe this weekend since I got my buck Saturday. Cant wait to see how it shoots, been wanting one for a long time. Grammar is important. Capitol letters are the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" & "helping your uncle jack off a horse".

However, if I was on a mountain big game hunt, that would be the first rifle that I would grab. I have a 99F in 358 that someday will go into the timber one day for elk. I will slap a 4x scope on it. Yup, that sounds pretty darn good. Lots of 99s are great to carry, but the F is it for me. That was until I had a 61 E rebored to .358 and rewooded it with a 'F' butt stock and an EG fore arm. The weight of the E now is within 1oz of the F but the 20" barrel of the 'E' makes it feel lighter, presumably because the balance point is more centered between the hands.
