might be a coincidence but I don't think so.

I've been fighting this malware that pretends to be an "important security update from Mozilla" and attempts to install a Firefox Security Patch.

I've been trying to isolate for a few weeks. I have 4 computers in the house, and this is the only one that does it so that tells me there is a piece of software embedded into my browser that triggers it on this machine.

The thing is though, it only triggers when I come to the 24hr campfire. So there is something about this site that telling that embedded loader to install malware on my system. Its happened at least 8 times in the last 2 weeks - only here.

As I am typing its taking about 4x as long to input characters on the screen so its actively trying to communicate between the two

This isn't a "get adblock" kind of thing. Its more root level.

Go to Norton's site & download Norton Power Eraser, download it & run it........it's free & it's pretty effective against rootkit issues such as it sounds like you may have.

My Blackberry Android has a problem with this site as well. I get, what looks to be, a Google Chrome alert that says my phone is 35% infected and I need to immediately download the advertised Google fix. It even says I have been infected because I have been visiting porn sites on my phone (NOT!). I never download anything like that, but I have to turn off my phone and restart, to get rid of it. It only happens when I am browsing 24 Hour, (never while visiting a porn site) grin

Many people have reported having problems using this site. I wonder if they're all using Firefox.

The reason I ask is because Firefox is a big competitor to Google. It makes me wonder if Google is putting crap on Firefox to discourage people from using it.

My MacBook Pro runs FireFox, AdBlock Plus and Avast Anti-Virus. I have never had one single problem on this site - not one.

If you are on a PC load the Opera browser. It has built in ad and pop up blockers and also includes a VPN option for privacy.
Someone here suggested it a few months back and since I have been using it my Fire experience has improved 100%. Speeded everything up and no buggy issues like I was having with I.E. or Firefox.

Me either. Are you running windows? If so can you open task manager and see if network traffic increases when you're idle on this site?

I use Firefox and have Adblock Plus on it and I'm fine. A couple of days ago I got a new computer. The first time I came on here, I had all kinds of crazy schit going on. I immediately downloaded Adblock and it's been running smooth ever since. I know it doesn't really block malware, but it made it a lot smoother.

I'm not into most conspiracy theories but I am convinced that liberals do attack conservative websites. They try to make them so troublesome that people won't risk visiting them.

I've thought about another browser, but I'm partial to Mozilla because I have alot of add-ons that are only written for Firefox.

Its not that big of a deal to me, but I use to roll my eyes at the guys that came on here complaining about this site and just would use the typical response - get an ad blocker

but whatever this is its bypassing my ad block.

I'll try the virus piece someone mentioned above.

There are all sorts of such problems which only occur here. I have those problems here all the time, but mainly on hand held devices. Although I have had malicious malware appear to take over my computer while visiting here, too, and it took quite some time to figure out how to get rid of it.

Yeah, back when I used my Safari browser on my Macbook Air I had bad malicious malware problems when visiting the Fire (never anywhere else). Since switching to FireFox, with adblock, I haven't had any. On handheld devices, though, it doesn't seem to matter which browsers I use. they all get malicious adware problems requiring me to close the browser and start over.
