Just saw a photo on the inside back cover of an NRA Magazine showing the gasses shooting out the side of the 6 slots on this pistol. I am of the opinion that I would not like to fire one that did this. Those gasses shooting out the muzzle is one thing, but having them popping out in front of my line of sight is another. Am I all wet?

Never noticed them on one I shot. Maybe I have bad eyes or something though.

I wouldn't want a ported Shield, but I'll wager that they sell all they build.

No ports for me. I stood next to a guy that had a Springfield V10 once. That little 3.5 inch 45 was extremely abnoxious.

Real fun to shoot in a tight retention position/speed rock. Doubly so at night.

They are the S&W Performance Center Model of the Shield, should have had fiber optic sights on it as well.

A local gun shop had come several in this past week, and they were leaving just as quickly.

Well that was interesting. Pro's and con's. I think I'll hang loose until they get around a bit, then see what the opinions are. The Shield is a hot seller. I went to see one, (Not Ported) and although it is made by S & W, I was not impressed. I think I would have to actually shoot a ported one to judge it. That pic in the NRA magazine showed a lot of s... coming out the sides. Thanks for your opinions, guys.
