My phone hates the 'fire.
Basic update, as ingwe predicted working for the state wasn't for me at all after working for and as an owner of small businesses all my life, I quit. Moved in with my girlfriend in Helena MT over Labor Day weekend. Working in the butcher shop of a grocery store.
Things are good. With the change of scenery and being low man on the totem pole at the new job didn't get any real hunting in this fall but am planning on black bear this spring since I'm on this side of the state and have only had the opportunity to hunt them once so far. Thanks for the update Rattler, I'm glad to hear you are doing well and life is chuggin' along. Keep in touch and have a great Thanksgiving.

Welcome back to where us common folks post on the fire! Glad to hear you are getting on with whatever this phase of your life holds....
I also think it is kind of cool that a hunter is able to land a job as a butcher.. All that "on the hobby" training paying off.

Lol actually the fact I had been butchering my own critters had alot to do with them hiring me. Vast majority of the shop are hunters. Was a absolute b$17(# convincing them I wanted nothing to do with the state anymore. Ran into that alot while job hunting. Potential employers did not believe I wasn't looking for a temp job to get me by till a state job here opened up. But after 18 months I had all I could handle of it. Actual work was interesting and fun, bullshit that went with wasn't.

Same to you guys. Over the summer I was working alot of 12 hour days, six days a week. And when not doing that I was traveling across the state to see the girlfriend. Really didn't miss the computer. Have a fair bit more down time now. Likely get the laptop screen fixed and be back around more.

Yep, a Cordon Bleu Institute trained chef, ex hockey player(has all her teeth), firefighter and she makes a hell of alot more than I do. Plus her demons play well with mine.
