2muchgun,Washtenaw. The West property line is the Jackson/Washtenaw line.

I agree with you concerning the shotgun zone thing. Even though the rules have changed for the better, it would be nice to have Indiana's regs regarding rifles. A 44 mag or 45 Colt bolt action would be the bomb for now.
Had a Marlin 1894SS that would have worked great, but sold it the spring before the rule change.

Great area. The 10 pt. I posted was from Washtenaw.

I am loving my 450 Bushmaster AR-15. It is a much more powerful round than the 44 and 45.

My bud hunts with a Marlin in 44 mag, but is now shopping for a 450 Bushmaster for next year. More likely than not, I will get stuck putting one together for him.

Randys in Bad Axe had a bunch of Ruger Americans made in 450 BM and they sold like hot cakes. If I didn't already have the AR, I may have bought one. It is worth checking into if you want a bolt gun.....

This is the second year I was invited to this UP deer camp. Got a real whooper last year on this same set up in a borrow pit next to some pasture and ag fields. The Michigan boys didn't think too much of my location, but I read the sign during some advance scouting. Now some of them are wanting to setup there, but the camp boss ruled against them. laugh

Speer 87 grain HotCor at 60 yards, both lungs and an exit.

Hope to get invited back next year, besides they like the cheese I bring.

Today is always a sad one, the end of rifle deer season! I hunted alot but failed to see a Legal buck, 2 I thought were 3pts or better, but just couldnt count tines! saw alot of deer and could have punched a doe tag, but the freezers are already full, and the deer Pop. is down around here! might take the muzzleloader out, depends on the snow fall. Already planning for next Oct bow season!

Randy's in Bad Axe you say?
That sounds like an interesting combo.
Did they get Ruger to do it, or have it done aftermarket?

Hhmm, buy an RAR in short action, .473" bolt face.
A chambered 450 Bushmaster barrel, a headspace gauge and a strap wrench for the barrel nut. Sounds pretty easy.
I wonder if the feed lip geometry of the magazines needs to be changed for proper feeding?

They were factory made guns. They had 2 versions, a 22" plain barrel and a 16" threaded barrel. He sold out of both in short order, I've heard 1500 total. My nephew (who has a 22" model) said they may get more early next year. I'd like one in a lefty, but not holding my breath. I have a CDNN sale priced RAR .308 lefty inbound and was thinking of calling Ruger to see if they had a left over barrel I could fit. I believe the magazine is also different judging by the pictures.

I am sure there is probably already a waiting list on them if more are planned for the future. They will have NO problem selling them, nor close. I kinda want one but certainly don't need another rifle.

With the ARs you can simply add a different follower to a standard 5.56 magazine. No other alterations required. They try charging you big bucks, like $35 or so last I looked, for the larger capacity magazines. But for about $11-$12 you can turn a standard 5.56 30 rounder into an 11 round 450 BM magazine.

Another bud bought a 450 BM upper last night. And yet another about to buy one today.......

Thanks for the info.
It shouldn't be difficult to find a barrel maker to make one up to fit.
16" threaded sounds interesting, and would help keep length down when using a suppressor.
Getting magazines might be a little harder.
