Looking for a dedicated high magnification target scope. Won't be used for hunting or in bad light. What is the consensus about a SWFA 20x42? How about other suggestions in the $500 range or so? Don't care for reticles with circles. Prefer moa over mil. Will consider any brand. Thanks gentlemen.

I had the 20x MOA, but sold it and just use 10x MQ scopes for similar purposes.
How far are you shooting, and how big are the targets?

Will be used primarily at 100 and 200 yds for load development and general chasing of extreme accuracy. The swfa seems like a lot of scope for the price.

I like mine. Not as "dark" as some reviews say. Similar: weaver T36, Mueller 8-32
