This thing is ugly but cheap so can I cover up the ugly for a truck gun/loaner?

Why does a man who is 50 pounds overweight complain about a 10 pound rifle being too heavy?

I don't know what finish is on the stock, but I would try to strip the existing pattern with paint stripper. There may be a black stock under there.

ETA looking at pics I bet that is a black stock with either the pattern painted on or dipped. I would strip it with KleenStrip.

Thsoe stocks are really loved by some... especially for their 'little girl' etc...

I'd pull the stock and sell it... and I'm sure you can get another stock and pick up some coin...

I've seen people buy those rifles locally, just for the stock in that Muddy Girl coloration... and they've paid premium pricing over a regular stocked rifle...

I have one of these and haven't bothered. And my 3-year old daughter still thinks I'm cool!

MuddyGirl is sorta butch, different strokes... Krylon is a good bet and a blast of adhesion promoter first wouldn't hurt at all. I'd absolutely not bother to strip it. The OEM finish should be bonded excellent and a good base to work from. If glossy, you might scuff it first and definitely wipe with alcohol as Flyer01 said.

All the Krylon in Wal-Mart can't hide the fact that it's a Salvage.

for a truck gun and\or a loaner?
why paint it. Not as likely to get stolen. Nor need you worry about it being returned.

Yeah and you won't lose it if you put it down. Unless of course you are hunting in a bubble gum field.

That's what I'd do. Its a savage, it's not like it's hard to find a cheap stock for it.

One thing about having a muddy girl, no one in deer camp will take your gun by accident smile
