It's ok Joe. It happens to all of us. I haven't shot a deer since 2012. Joe-I was close to 10 years without shooting a deer before this past fall. It happens, man. That's why they call it hunting, not shooting.

So a long planned rooster hunting trip to SW MN is taking place this weekend. Can anyone say Brrrrrrrrr? Highs will be below 0. Lows are going to be -20 or less. Might have to wear a sweatshirt.
Tzone, I think I speak for most when I say we really dont need photographic evidence....but we do want to hear about the poh-leece!

Temps are getting warmer. My hands warming back up, so i can type. Man, been crazy cold out.
Be careful going out ice fishing, well at least down here in the metro. Ice is shady right now. Those two snow storms made a nice blanket on the lakes. It's not setting up, lots of slush pockets.
Heard a guy tried to drive out on White Bear lake on 5 inches. Went thru. Imagine that.

I never really feel safe out on the ice until after the new year. I rarely drive on ice down here. I have a 4-wheeler...I might as well use it.

When I lived in Wausau, WI I saw a couple guys run a ladder from the shore to the ice because the ice wasn't froze all the way to shore yet? Holy crap! That was nuts! They weren't small boys either. They were typical WI linebacker type fellas.

Santa arrived early this year. The mailman brought me a surprise package from EFW, who was one of the guys that joined me in Pa. this fall for deer hunting. I had told him about the pet load MILES58 had cooked up for my 300 Savage. Dave's as good as they come, and really knows his stuff around the reloading bench. He loaded me a box of ammo for my 99, and the powder of choice was Varget. All he said was "just get some powder to replace what we used." This came up in conversation at camp, and today a supply of Varget showed up, much to my surprise. I've all ready contacted Dave to let him know I got this generous gift, and need to get it to him.
I can't begin to thank EFW, MJBGALT, and Eric's friend Angel for the great time we had together. I hope they join me many more times again. All these guys are good people. Just can't say it enough.
Thanks again to all four of these men for making this hunt a success.

Cool gesture! I really need to get cracking on the reloading room. I need to organize it better. Get my ammo into some lockers of some sort. I could probably fill one with .22 rounds.
