Nothing I've used in this price range has touched the swfa 3-9 HD Bingo! But to be around $500, you got to catch Black Friday sale or July 4th sale.

It falls in the less than $500.00 (used price) category too.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I put a 3x9x40 Burris FF II on my 257 wby many years ago as a temporary and it's still sitting there. It's been tougher than nails.

The best for me would have holdover marks rather than a plex reticle. Examples, Burris E1, Mil dot, SWFA Mil Quad etc That matters more for my uses than make or model.

We have been very pleased with buying used Sightron big sky scopes. Very underrated glass.

In that price range, I take a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40 every time.

I've got about $500 TOTAL in the last 3 3-9x40 Monarch UCCs I've bought. My favorite bang-for-the-buck scope. My other favorite is the Conquest. I have a MeoStar 4-12x40 that I got on clearance for under $500 a couple of years ago that is fantastic.
Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.
