My Lee PPM has gone loco and after reviewing all brands I settled on replacing it with a Lee Classic cast iron dump. Went to LeePrecison.com and saw something called a Deluxe Perfect Powder measure. It replaces the plastic metering chamber with brass and uses the same measuring mechanism as the cast iron Classic model so I am wondering why I wouldn't go with this thing over the Classic.
I cannot find any reviews on the Deluxe and am wondering if anyone has seen or used one or has an opinion.

Perfect seems more deluxe than deluxe (deluxe squared?), but I'm sorta into words.
I have an OLD Lyman but have always wanted a Redding. Heard that the Lee Perfect performs just as well as any other even though it looks cheap can't think of a reason to go w/ anything more expensive?

It looks to me like Lee has used the Auto Drum body with the Perfect internals to create the Deluxe. I have an Auto Drum and so far I have not noted powder leakage with fine grain ball powders like I had with the Lee Perfect. The Auto Drum is used with a neck expanding die and it drops a charge automatically. It is very accurate. I love the Lee Perfect measure with stick powder, but it binds and leaks kernels with ball powder.

Well, I started wondering what exactly could be wrong with so simple a tool (the Lee not me!).
I decided it might not have had enough powder in the hopper and tried again. It helped but I still got mixed results. I looked at my scale and think it may have been contributing. It is a Lee and the dimple where the fulcrum pivots may have had some dirt in there. So I tested again and this time sort of 'cheated' with the scale by holding it steady for a second at "0" before letting it loose to actually balance the charge weight. I got super consistent throws four or five in a row so I think I may be good to go.
...so why is part of me disappointed because I won't have to buy a new toy?
