Blonde Chicks?

Hell I can remember one Hot Redhead who worked at the Flying J Truck Stop in SLC that I would have kidnapped in a NY Minute to take on the road with me when I was driving over the road, the only thing that saved her was wife was with me at the time.

Another time was in Rexburg, Idaho at a chicken joint there was a little Blackheaded gal that left me speechless. She was downright knockdown gorgeous.

The classic "in Utah" joke about the BYU Women's Swim Team is that they're all protected by Greenpeace...

The classic "in Utah" joke about Utahns themselves is that a Utahn WILL take something for free -- but only if it includes a cash rebate.

In truth, Utah is blessed (or cursed - your own definition applies) with hordes of people boasting (or lamenting) Nordic descent. I think there are 20+ pages in the phone book listing Christianson, Christiansen, Christenson, Johanson and all its variants, Swenson, etc, etc. So finding somebody blonde and blue-eyed is not that difficult. And with a sizable chunk of the young male populace gone on two-year missionary stints, finding such a blonde/blue-eye female is doubly easy.

Of course, such sights are only eye candy for this married man of 36+ years, right? Yes, dear.

100% +, Mickey.

I don't dislike a man just because he believes differently from my beliefs but my problem is with what people choose to put stock in because they have been taught wrong. Lots & lots of people that think they are Christians sure are in for a bad surprise and then it's gonna be too late to do anything about it. I have done quite a lot of preaching at rodeos and it sure is a great thing to see one of those riders genuinely accept Christ. Then go ahead and live the life of a Christian.
Too God be the glory!

The Lord addresses this very issue when He speaks of those at the Judgment who will say (paraphrased, of course), "Lord, didn't I teach Sunday School for forty two years? I was chairman of the deacons at my church for nearly 50 years! I served on the official board of my church all of my adult life and so on....) and the Lord will reply, "Depart from me. I never knew you."

I always think of it this way, I knew a lot about Ronald Reagan, recognized his picture and was a great admirer of his but Ronald Reagan never knew Mickey Coleman and therein lies the difference.

While I'm in the pulpit I would like to clarify one other thing: for years I've heard many say, "A loving God wouldn't send anybody to Hell". That's true but not like they mean it. God doesn't send anybody to Hell. In fact, Scripture tells us in 2 Peter 3:9 "it's not God's will that any should perish". Where people seem to miss the boat is in overlooking the fact that man is a free moral agent. That and the fact that we were created in God's image is what separates us from every other created being. Every man is urged to come to God in repentance at some point in their life. After repeated rejections God will simply say, "Have it your way" and then they shall be cut off suddenly, and that without remedy. Proverbs 29:1.

Just because a person rejects God's calling has no bearing on how that person acts in society and is certainly no justification for me to behave like an uncircumcised Philistine. If I am commanded to be a representative of Jesus, the Christ, while on earth I should do my best to bring honor and glory to Him. (I will confess that when I walk through the house at night and kick a chair with my bare feet and my toe is killing me I fall way short of this ideal.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />)

Mickey,

I agree totally. I may go to heaven. But if I go to hell, I did it to me. The Lord gave me every chance, and I blew it.

Very true. Every single person is on their way there from their day 1. What God did is to give us a WAY OUT of hell.

Have no problem with LDS members. Years age attended a Northern Virginia Christrian Church as a guest of a customer. The sermon was how their demonination was the only path to God. Catholics,Baptise,Methodist, etc. were all practising religion wrong & were condemed to hell & damnation. This is a large local church with a big missionary program in many parts of the world.

Membership equals money. The more members the more money you rake in.Hence the age old line about our church being the best. The problems most denominations have is keeping a steady flow of cash,it fluctuates greatly through the year. You'll find southern baptists and jehovahs witnesses crying about catholics constantly. Thats because the catholic membership goes to church or mass consistently and as a result, the parishes do better then many other denominations cash wise, while others are going bankrupt.

CNN had a neat story on LDS's Warren Jeffs. He's in jail ,yet is still pulling down around 24 million a year,by using bogus construction companies.Where his members turn over all their construction job paychecks to him and then qualify for welfare themselves.

tbear; That is tragic that any church would make such a statement. There is no denomination or religion that is the only way to God.
But, what is confusing to many unbelievers and sounds terribly exclusive and intolerant is that we believe that there is only one Person who is the only way to God. That person is Jesus. He said it Himself: "I am the way, and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me."
Everyone must decide what to do with that statement... Was Jesus telling the truth, was He deranged, was He lying?

If He is telling the truth then it behooves us to find out what else He said about how to come to the Father through Him. Ignore the religions, denominations if you want but honestly find out who Jesus is and what He told us to do about it.

Wayne,
That's dead on. The most profound question ever asked was asked by Pontius Pilate and it's a question we must all ask ourselves and our eternal souls depend on the answer: "What, then, shall I do with this man, Jesus?"
He is the core of Christianity, not some denomination.

Living behind the "Zion curtain" as I do, I have a lot of mormon friends and business relations. I can't tell the difference as human beings from any others. Good, bad, and ugly, but most seem to try a little harder at being decent than the general populace.

That said, there is another aspect of the Mormon church that gives me pause and that is the "Church, INC". There is no doubt that the LDS church encourages doing business with, hiring of, etc, of church members with "temple recommends" over all gentiles. Ostensibly to support the church members, though the cynic in me strongly suspects it is to collect that 10% tithe...... JMO, Dutch.

True, true, and true again!!!!!!

Most religions are all about money and membership equals money. Religion is a business. Deism has no membership therefore, no money. Doesn't have any church either. Wouldn't have it any or way.

Another racket,is christian missions trips to spread the word around. Here you have people donating thousands of dollars,to some guy and a group of his buddies, they always end up finding some nice snatch to tag along also. In return, they buy plane tickets to exotic lands to spread the word. Then they show slide shows of the trip. Which consists of them eating local cuisine, hiking, playing grab ass and lets not forget, spreading the word.

They had a missions coordinator on a local radio show the other day. The DJ listened to the guy talk about the winning of hearts and minds. Not to mention all the recreational things these guys do on someone elses money. Then the DJ replied,"these missions trips, even have a bit of a christian theme also. Right? The missions guy didn't know what else to say.

My neighbor is a church treasurer. Good guy and a little niave. He starts telling me one day about the financial problems his church is facing. Turns out he has this portfolio of the churches finances. He opens it and shows me the figures. The pastor is taking down 63k a year plus medical and 401k. The assistant pastor/youth pastor is in the 40k range. They're paying out 25k in missions trips. Not to mention a 2500 dollar monthly morgage on the church. Which they just had to add an addition on,even though membership is down and one of the early sunday services has been canceled for lack of attendance. The portfolio's were printed by a local printer for $800. All in a town where the average yearly income is barely 40k.

I am glad to see we have gotten away from the topic of LDS. Because it is very obvious you are not referring to any LDS missionaries.
