The Cummins engines will hold up a long time but it's necessary to keep up with maintenance on the rest of the truck to get those high miles. The Dodges have some weak points. Mine's an 08 with just over 100k. I had to replace the clutch at about 90 and the tie rods and ends at about 95. The ball joints are famous for failing, too, but so far mine are ok.

Had an 03 z-71 I bought new. Traded in 2013 with 225,000 mikes on it. Didn't want to get rid of it but wife thought we needed a car with kids on way. Rebuilt water pump and two catalytic converters were only non routines done on it.
Dad bought an 88 Toyota 2wd new. He did some carb work on it then face to me with 160k. I put another 120k on it through high school and college. Gave it back with 280k and two starters in that time and a clutch master cylinder.

Have you noticed? We always seem to complain about how much better the old cars were & how much easier they were to work on. But, we don't see many of them in this thread. They were all worn out at 100k.

My Tundra 4.7L only has 153K. That is the highest mileage I ever had on a vehicle. Terry, I am not sure if you have done so, but Toyota recommends replacing the timing belt every 100,000 miles.

99 Chevy 3/4 ton has 231,000, a little sloppy in the front end but motor, trans, 4x4 work perfect. 02 Nissan Maxima, 211,0000, bought new when wife graduated college. Any more it's my daily driver, about 60 miles a day. Had a 90 Geo Prism that gave up a few years back at 287,000.

It was done at 90K at Toyota. When they did the new frame at 110K they also did the radiator, brake lines, and exhaust. I just had my mechanic friend replace the original fan belt because it was squeaky. He refused to replace it for a couple of months because he thought scotchbrite clean was good enough. Hard to get him to do PM stuff... I want to hang new parts to keep it in shape. It is a cherry. Pretty optimum for my hunting needs.

Rock Chuck, the R 350 has only 33,000 but it sits mostly.New U -joints, shocks, brakes, starter, and a winshield wiper bushings recently. Has a utility bed w/ladder rack, and is my hunting/camping truck, the tool boxes hold a unbelievable amount of gear. But my favorite vehicle is a 2003 Mercury Marauder, 210,000 mi.,prolly the only Marauder in the USA with that many mi., and bone stock also, gets 22/25 mpg if I behave myself.

Interesting. It's a rare vehicle to be that old with such low mileage. Usually they're a garage find where someone died and the kids just parked it and forgot it.

Since some here have mentioned suv's, I'll follow suit. My '09 ford escape AWD has 240,000 miles on it and still going strong. Little 3.0 duratec motor is flawless and puts out nice power (same performance numbers as '93 5.0 Cobra Mustang), while still getting 26 mpg on the freeway. Just changed the oil the other day and I'll say with complete honesty that it doesn't use a drop of oil in 5,000 miles. I expect to get 400,000 out of it easily...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
