Found a M85 Sako Finnlight in the safe today. 308 with a VX2 CDS with alumina caps, and it was 6 pounds 11.7 ounces. Sling and ammo would still be a light 7 pound hammer. I have a spare VX6 1-6X firedot that may replace the VX2. My 260 is 7.0 pound even in that configuration.

Forget the exact weights off the top of my head, but the one on top is about 7.25 and the one on bottom is 6.75 pounds-ish. 270 WCF and 300 Wby respectively.
If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ...

I am really enjoying this thread. The drool factor is indeed high.

6.078lbs. What am I looking at there? Kimber 84M Mountain Ascent, 308 Win., Talley Lightweights, and a Zeiss Duralyt 2.5-8x42mm of German manufacture. The scope is a bit on the heavy side at 16oz., but I had it and love the glass in the Appalachian timber stands I hunt. That is a great scope, it usually clashes with sythetic rifles but looks great on wood, but it goes well with the camo on that kimber!

Bottom to top. Savage 116 .223 with Leupold VX-2 3-9x40. It's new and unfired, but I expect good things from it. Ruger M77 .257 Roberts with Leupold VX-1 3-9x40. It's been my main hunting rifle for about 12 years now. It'll throw its favorite loads into 1.5 inches at 100 yards. With 115 grain Partitions delivered into the vitals and a shoulder it's 100% DRT. Ruger Hawkeye 30-06. I have only tried 3 loads through it. The best has grouped about 1.75 inches. I'll improve on that. I still haven't hunted with it. Show me what you have. those salvage LW hunters will shoot. action is clunky, like every salvage. but the complete package somehow manages to come out sexy and functional.

That's a spot on assessment. I have only had it to the range that one time and it impressed me plenty with its accuracy.

Kimber Adirondack re-barreled w/HART 1-8" chambered in 6x47LAPUA finished at 20" loaded with HPBT 105's, topped with a SS1-4MQ. Top pic taken from Tree-Lounge as snowstorm started coming in. Crappy cell phone camera shows some of the snow crystals as blue-green.

How do you like that 1-4 on there? Have you shot it at longer range?

I like it a lot. I haven't had the chance to shoot it past 100 yards and even then I can't tell if it's me or the rifle that is shooting 2" groups. Here in VA hunting Whitetails most shots are less than 100 yards, but I do plan to shoot it at longer range and fine tune the groups now that hunting season is over. I'll most likely put a more powerful scope on the rifle just to make sure it's shooting tight while fine tuning and then switch back to the 1-4 for hunting.
