Congrat's to you both. My son killed his first deer with a T/C pro hunter. Like you son's first deer will never forget it.

Triple backup those pics as the memories of a 4 yr old will fade in just a few short years. They'll need constant reinforcement. A good start there.

You think about it the whole antler thing is a bit odd. When I shoot a rabbit I don't look if it's a buck or doe. Likewise squirrels etc. birds are usually pretty obvious but they all taste about the same. I'm glad your son had a good time and a successful hunt.

Congratulations on a great hunt for you and your son! What a cool experience for him.
I shot a doe in 2013 when my son was with me. He was 8 at the time. He'd been with on hunts many times but they were unsuccessful. He was so excited about that deer he still talks about it. It is one of my most memorable hunts to date.
This year, he shot one for himself. An even better experience!
Camp is where you make it.

That's cool. Congrats. My two are just 3 now, so don't have much patience yet. I took Thatcher about 4-5 times this year and he was ready to go in about 30min each time, so we didn't stay long enough to do much good. It was pretty cool when I'd wake him in the mornings as I could just give him a little push and ask if he wanted to go hunting and he'd pop right up wide awake. Baby girl would just get whiney and go back to sleep, so I'll try to get her to go more next year. I got one with my xbow yesterday eve and they both thought that was so cool. Both asked a hundred questions it seemed while I cleaned the deer and iced it down. Can't wait for their first kills.
