I scored this 1942, number 75 catalog with the price list dated 1-2-1942 at the Ogden gun show last weekend. Catalog cover and price list. page 1 Page 2 and 3 showing the only 99's cataloged that year: The EG and G only offered in 250-3000 and 300 with 24" barrels. A footnote in the price list says in reference to the G and some other models, "Factory production recently temporarily suspended although they are still available in many dealers' and distributors' stock." The R and RS are only offered in 300 Savage with 24" barrels. David

David, there are at least three price lists with the #75 catalog, 1/2/1941, 6/16/1941 and 1/2/1942. I don't think the catalog info changed but the price sheets did.
Note that your later price list has "*" on some items that are not on the 6/16/1942 list. What does the "*" indicate?

I should have elaborated, the * is for the footnote that says the models that have an * are temporarily out of production, etc. Some of the others with an * are: Models 23-AA and 23-B; Model 19, Model 19 less sights, Model 19-M, Model 29-S, #10 (# 329 Weaver) 3 power telescope, Model 722, Model 728 and Model 420's and extra barrels for model 430. I believe the Weaver 329 was re-designated to a different number and was used on sniper rifles during WWII. This could explain its unavailability. We weren't in the war when the catalog was printed but we were providing lend-lease to the Allies. David

I reread your earlier posting. I read right over the "Footnote" statement. Thanks. The next catalog is the #76 (red with a deer on cover) which started sometime after mid-1942. I don't know what price lists were issued with it. The only one I have info on is dated 3/25/1947. The #76 was the last of the red cover catalogs. It was followed by the "1947" catalog, with a white cover. PS...like all things Savage, catalogs and price lists are a real bag of worms.

I have 4 of the # 75 catalogs but only 2 price lists. One dated 6-16-41 and the other 1-2-42. I do have Savage Fair Trade Agreement between Savage and Burks Hardware dated 3-14-41 showing the complete pricing agreements.

I also have a few # 76 catalogs, only 1 of them had a price list dated 1-2-1942. It also came with a letter from W D Higgins sales Manager stating that Savage facilities are now devoted to manufacture of military equipment and that Savage is not currently producing firearms for commercial sale.

David, I think I got everything that I was asked for, I emailed the original pictures to the person, these were sent to photobucket and I think when I do that the resolution gets reduced a little making them harder to read. I bought a Savage catalog collection several years ago at an auction that had almost all the catalogs from No 55 up to into the 1970's. Since I have added quite a few more earlier ones.

Any information in your catalogs for 1935 ERA where checked pads were offered on the RS for an extra fee? Thanks GW

They are handy to have. I borrowed a collection of catalogs when I wrote the book although I have quite a few of my own.

I have the one with checked pads that was shipped from the factory 1-1-1935. Would like to have a copy of the information where it was offered as an option on the RS's. Better yet the sales catalog for that year. Thanks GW

My #68 Catalog has a price list. Do you mean a MonteCarlo stock in terms of the cheek piece on the wood?
Under extras there are 9-10 stock options. None call out Monte Carlo or cheek piece per say.
My # 69 Catalog did not come with a price list.

Better yet the sales catalog for that year. Thanks GW This may help - It looks like they were rapidly reducing the available extra's around this time. I have several wholesale & retail catalogs from this time but they do not list any of the options.
