I think it was the departing head of the US Fish and Wildlife program affecting mostly refuges. Lead has been banned for several years on our refuge where we are allowed to pursue waterfowl and ring neck pheasants.

Trump's EO banning further regulations probably takes care of it, as it hasn't been posted in the register or whatever it is called, at least for the time being. Or I could be wrong. Again.  By the way, since where I am now living is nearly ALL Fed Park, Monument, Refuge, Preserve, and BLM land, I've been pointing out to the local Democrats that "subsistence hunt" how this would affect their ammunition prices.. Just to rub their faces in it. I wonder how all those tribal boys are feeling about it.....

Might need to do that. The .45-70 came in a few days back and I only get about 13 bullets/pound for that chunker. That makes for about 10,400 bullets. On the other hand I can make 65,880+ for the .25-20. Decisions, decisions, decisions....
Good news is I'll only have to shoot something once with the .45-70.

Yeah. I find the .416 Rigby much more practical as a truck gun. Now I haven't tested it against trucks mind you, but I think it would work. All the bullets I have for that bish sport lead cores.
