I just recently purchased a cz 550 in 416 rigby. Now I'm looking fo a scope to stick on top of it ive narrowed it down to either a leupold vx6 or a zeiss conquest DL. I was wondering if anyone has had either of them and can tell me which holds up to recoil better and the low light performance on both of them. Both I would like in the 2-8/12 power range. Also have any of yall had any experience with zeiss warranty?

I have the same set-up as agazain on my Dakota .416 Rigby. It's been on 3 trips and killed everything from Cape Buffalo to a Klipspringer (no follow-up shot needed). It's a great set-up for 100 yards and under.
You may clarify for us, what is your intended quarry/range?

The gun will hopefully one day be taken to Africa but for the time being I will use it for white tail and elk in the states. I'm truly leaning towards the zeiss I'm just not sure if the duralyt can handle the abuse of the 416

If in doubt, don't. You can use Leupold 1-4x,1.5-5x,2-7x or even Leopold's 2.5x on the .416 Rigby.

A long tube 3x Leupold--just like the one I have for sale in the classifieds. Durable, simple, and a good match for the ranges one shoots a .416,

Not to mention the size of the normal targets.
But he might have bought his .416 to shoot jackrabbits.

I dont have any experience with Zeiss. In my opinion and limited experience any Leupold will stand up. That is from the VX I shotgun up to II and III's. That will cover 458 and 505 as well as 416 or 375HH. I like this: Leupy Vari-X III 1.5-5x20 mm in Talley detachable on the one I just sold. Never a worry.

Here's a Leupold 1-4x on my .460 Wby. Get that thing in a scabbard, if it goes off it'll shoot the moon down.

Op, I had a 1.5-5 Leupold on my 416 Rigby Ruger Magnum in a set of Warne QD rings, nary a problem for probably over a thousand rounds fired.

I had the same on my Dakota Rigby (since sold) with zero issues over four or so hundred rounds. That same scope is on my M70 416 Rem with about the same down with zero issues. It will "see" buffalo and sable in Zimbabwe later in the year.

I love that scope one a bigger bore, 'bigger bore' meaning up too 505 Gibbs, that bastage firing 600 gr Woodleighs at 2450 broke the [cam/cams?] in two 1.5-5's in short order.

I had a Leupold VX-6 on my Dakota M76 in .416 Rigby that I took to Africa in 2015.
I have sold both the rifle and the scope, but I could not have been more pleased with the set up.

I'm running a Nikon Monarch 1-4x20mm on my Rigby. Great scope for the price.

I use Bushnell 6500 Elite 1.25-8x on my big rifles. I really like the features and dependability. I have six of them on .338WM, .375HH and .416Rem. They have helped me kill lots of big stuff.

The Rigby in modern guise is capable of decent trajectory and range. If you will use it on large non-dangerous game, heck, even large bears, you can't go wrong with the VX6 2-12 illuminated.
