If the SP101 would take a 5-shot cylinder, like perhaps a Single Six, it would be a dandy.

Also would like a GP-100 4" in 41 Magnum.

Hopefully Ruger/Hornady will be reading threads like this for new product ideas, since they are listening to shooters...consumers.

I wouldn't bet on it.

The .32 Federal, another really useful round, is struggling with no serious competition. The .41 Special would be up against .40 and 10mm autos in the marketplace, and they hold lots more rounds. S&W could build a .41 Mag L-frame, just like the .44. That would be less risky, maybe.

If you want one, build it. I think Starline makes brass.

Now I did love a 686 pre-lock, and yes a 41 would be great, sans the locks, which I have yet to own.....they really cut their throat IMHO with those lawyer induced changes.

I would go Rem Mag in the L frame...the K would be sweet in Special. I agree on a custom, but may be very costly for a conversion.

Ruger still has the "Tell the CEO" feature on their site, but isn't the 41 Special still a wildcat? Not sure they would go that route unless it was a standardized cartridge, but I am by no means an expert on it.

I dig the GP100 in 44 Special. Never thought it would happen, but the 44 is a standardized cartridge.

I like the 44SP but prefer the lighter unfluted cylinder 4.2" model like my former 357. Had a great ethos though slower lock time and a trigger OEM not as nice as the old Smith L frame. I know the triggers can be tweaked.
