Is even more better when it has a red dot in the center. I'm enjoying this setup, though I do need to yank the front sight/hood again.

Other than NO ONE making bullets for the damn thing, it should be just about the shizzle for TN deer hunting.
I did manage to find about 150 or so 120g FP Noslers and a like amount of 139gr Hornady. Also picked up a case of ammo and I already had a few boxes of ammo, so I should be fairly well set.

That looks to be super. Will it work on a Marlin 336?

Yea, would be sweat if Hornady offered a 7mm 130 grain FTX. It appears if it doesn't pertain to an AR-15 or end with a Creedmoor your out of luck as to any new products

Does Burris make the base? Does it use the receiver sight screw holes? Yes and it uses the 2 screw holes on the top of the receiver for scope base or receiver sight. It's obviously a 94AE

Would you please share where you got the leather? That is some very attractive work.

I am considering the same set up on my Browning 71. Doug Turnbull makes a base.

Used this for a while on my Guide gun. It is a Fastfire II, and there were a couple of features that I really didn't like, but the Fastfire III has addressed those, so I may reconsider. Acquiring a moving target with a dot sight is FAST.

It's a FF3, I don't remember what dot comes with it, I think it's 3MOA I just put a 3 MOA FF3 on my Guide gun today, I'll get around to zeroing it this weekend. I had a FF2 on it and really liked the concept, but the FF2 had a couple of quirks that I didn't like. Those being using a screwdriver with a wheel to zero it, and having to take the sight off of the base to replace the battery. I sold it to a guy who put it on his 336 with the intention of replacing it with the FF3. I have a Leupold FX-II 2.5X20 UL in QR mounts, so this time I used an EGW rail and the FF3 has the picatinny mount, so one of the things I'll be looking at is repeatability if dismounted/remounted. This rifle is a short range affair, so extreme precision won't be needed. The scope does goes back to zero, and I suspect that the dot will if I mind the torque I tighten to. I use this rifle a lot in the thick woods where sometimes not a lot of time is available to get the sight on the target. It's hard to beat a dot for that. Here is the rifle with the FF2 on it. The EGW rail/FF3 combo is not as clean looking and puts the sight a little higher, but allows more latitude in sight systems. I also have a Williams FP, so if I take the rail off I can use that. You can say I've been all over the place with sights on this rifle.....
