Older 870's. Man, I love these old corn shuckers.

Savage Model 99's. Quite simply the best lever gun every built, although more than one 94 and a bunch of 336's have darkened my cabinets from time to time. I even stooped so low as to buy an 88. It had some pretty big shoes to fill and didn't stay around long.

I've got one if I can find it.

The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

I feel your pain. I have the same one. grin
Too funny...

I have a Bubba'd up Czech Vz-24 right now that I'm going to set right. The action is in great shape. Someone installed a .30-06 barrel that was taken off of some commercial Mauser. It looks like crap, Headspace isn't even close to being right and a good Vz-24 action really just deserves better.

Vz-24, that's my favorite 98. Right now I've got 5 98's:

a scrubbed Century Arms 30-06 that I bedded into a NOS Fajen stock(on long term loan to a buddy):

, my baby Vz-24 with a new stock and barrel:
[Linked Image] . A Gew.98(DWM) and a (I think, was a train wreck of mismatched parts when I got it) BRNO 98/22 that I am using to build a matched pair of 270's for my boys, and a 1915 Danzing Gew.98 that I "rescued" from a used rack back in November(got a great looking bore, already bubba'ed, going to build a "throw back" 8x57 sporter as long as it shoots).

If you go back to 8x57, Numrich as new production(ER Shaw I think) stepped barrels for a good price. Your Vz-24 will thank you for it.

I don't always shoot Mausers, but when I do...I prefer VZ-24s.

Always liked Lugers; wish I had a few more. This one is a Swiss 1906 in 7.65mm.

A properly executed M700 is pretty bitchin'.

Some rifles have some real electricity in the hands... old Winchester and Marlin lever guns do that for me.

Handguns are utility tools in my book. Glocks seem to hit where I naturally point them, are cheap, are good quality. While the 1911's and revolvers I've owned have been "superior" handguns.............. I mostly own Glocks now.

Of course, AR's are a given.

Loggah, very nice collection.

My wife is now of the opinion that I have not lost my mind after all.

Thanks!

I don't have one at present, but love an 1892 Winchester in .38/40 or .44/40.

I don't collect any one type in any quantity but there are some models I really appreciate. If I'm walking past they warrant a second look.

Smith and Wesson K/L/N frames.
Smith and Wesson Model 41.
Kimber 84 Bolt Actions.
Ruger #1s.
Browning SxS and O/U Shotguns. (My dad hunted with a BSS)
Winchester Model 70's (even the push feeds)
Winchester M12s.
Savage 99s(don't own one but will change that in the near future)
