Been shooting lighter lead reloads, but feel the need to kill A deer with this rifle. Any ideas for hunting load that would be safe in the 73 45lc...Thanks

Any factory loaded 45 Colt [255 grains at 900 fps revolver] round will work, a load that runs 900 in a revolver may do 1250 from your rifle.

More than a 44 mag revolver running 240 grains at 1250, plenty enough for any deer or hog.
