Yeah, I read that Meopta made their old 80mm one. But this new 82mm one doesn't look like a Meopta. It doesn't have a helical/barrel focus ring. It's got the dual focus control and kinda looks like the Zen Ray a bit. Meopta also doesn't have a 20-60x eyepiece. They have a 20-70 and a 30-60 WA.

It's not important, I'm just curious. I don't think Trijicon is an OEM.

I thought it might be Sig. But to me, the Sig spotter is the same as Zen Ray. All three look like they could be the same scope. But the Trijicon's specs are slightly different. The Sig and the Zen Ray specs are identical.

According some some threads on predatormaster and sniper hide it's a rebadged meopta. The meopro / nightforce / trijicon is supposedly the same and priced about the same. Unless you find a discount code.

I believe this is correct. Meopta makes all of these. Not to be confused with the Meostar S2 though, which Meopta also makes for Nightforce.

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

I would have thought the Nightforce would equal the meopro spotter being its ~$500 less than the S2 ( s2 + eyepiece).

If thats the case, the nightforce is a steal.

I think the threads you found about the Trijicon being the Meopta are about the older Trijicon spotter. This new one is very different. Meopta does not offer a 20-60 eyepiece, unless they made one specifically for Trijicon. Meopta also does not have the typical gross and fine focus controls, they use barrel/helical focus.

But yes, the Nightforce and Meoptas are the same. Nightforce TS-80 = Meopro 80. Nightforce TS-82 = Meostar S2.

The only 20-60x82mm scopes with dual focus control I can find are the Zen Ray and Sig Sauer. Maybe I'm missing one? The other options is Meopta is just making a totally different design specifically for Trijicon. In any event, I have a message to Trijicon asking. I doubt they'll answer though.

Again, I was just curious. And this is all speculation anyway. smile

You are probably correct about the trijicon. I wanna say the threads I mentioned above were from '15.

Got a generic reply from Trijicon about how their optics are all made in the USA from the finest materials... blah blah blah. They did they are "made to their exact specifications..." So that tells me they don't make their own at least. But they wouldn't say outright who makes 'em.
