My only experience with factory ammo for the 7-08 was with the Hornady Superformance SST.

The good news was that it was very accurate in my rifle.

The bad news is that I hit the shoulder on an antelope buck at about 240 yards and it blew up both shoulders.

Too much of a good thing. Maybe too much for an average whitetail too.

Here is the description from the Hornady website:

"it's an ideal bullet for whitetails, as well as most North American game animals from antelope to moose and similar-sized African plains game. The SST® creates a devastatingly large wound channel."
