And some, usually within the first few replies, would tell you the time isn't really what you want to know.... That can happen without malice or deliberate douchebaggery. I suppose it's a bad thing outside the classroom, but when I'm asked a question my mind often goes into diagnostic mode. Sometimes straightening out what the question should actually be is more informative than the answer to the original question.
